Our Mission Statement: Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry is a non-profit organization, responding to food insecurity in our community.
We are working out of OB Joyfull Church located at
1984 Sunset Cliff’s Blvd. San Diego, CA 92107.
Distribution hours are every Monday, rain, or shine, including all holidays 9:30am – 12pm.
We accept donations:
Monday’s 9:00am – 12pm
Wednesdays 9:00am – 10:30am
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) in good standing.
OB Emergency Food Inc. DBA: Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry since 1979.
In 1978 area churches and community organizations came together to open the first pantry at the Women’s Club. In 1979 we officially become a non-profit helping food insecure families and individuals.
Almost 50 years later the Pantry continues to help provide food to over 1,000 men, women, and children per month in the 92106, 92107 and 92110 area.
As we move forward, we warmly welcome you to be part of our mission. Whether you choose to offer individual support or unite with your community groups, your participation helps us in extending kindness and alleviating hunger. Together, we can cultivate a brighter, more nourished tomorrow for everyone.

We ask no glass jars or expired items
SD Loaves & Fishes has been approved as a Gold Certified Nutrition Pantry by Leah’s Pantry!
Gold Certification means we meet Leah’s Pantry high standard for support policy, systems, and environmental changes at food distribution sites that lead to client-centered, health-focused distributions as well as improve implementation, data analysis, and support for agencies working to feed those in need.

Annual Statement – 2025
Concise takeaway: Loaves and Fishes distributed 17,071 bags of food and recovered 239,344 pounds of groceries in 2025, thanks to a powerful network of volunteers, corporate partners, churches, and community supporters. Rising need across San Diego makes this work more urgent than ever.
Our Mission in Action
In 2025, Loaves and Fishes continued its commitment to feeding our food-insecure neighbors with dignity, compassion, and consistency. As the cost of groceries, gasoline, and housing continued to rise across San Diego, more families turned to community food programs for help. We responded with determination, flexibility, and deep gratitude for the partners who make this work possible.
