I am a retired Sociology professor. My teaching and research has centered on health and trauma and also social inequality. I have been active in several non-profit groups, including a variety of food ministries. Food insecurity is a serious problem for many folks in our community; Loaves and Fishes represents one way to provide vital hope to people in need. I believe that God calls us to serve and sharing food is a direct way to nurture community, extend compassion and practice faith.
